How do I donate to WOW Radio?

Any way you choose! Our most convenient method is the WOW Way (bank transfer, credit or debit card). You can do that now securely online with ongoing Monthly gifts and/or Single gifts of any size.

Or if you prefer to use a check, you can make it payable to WOW® Radio and mail it to our address found on this website. We’ll respond back to you by mail, and with another opportunity to respond with your next gift.

Or you can call us anytime during office hours to donate over the phone, or to make a pledge.

 

What is the WOW WAY to give?

This simply means donating using your bank transfer, credit or debit card. We believe donating the WOW Way benefits us both. You get some of your life back without having to spend it on writing checks and buying stamps, so it’s more convenient. Plus your gifts go to work faster at WOW® Radio. WOW® Radio benefits because it lowers our administrative costs of processing your gifts, and we can budget smarter because we have a better idea of what donations to expect.

 

Is my donation to WOW® Radio tax-deductible?

Yes. WOW® Radio is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit ministry known as Agape Educational Media, Inc. Donations of any amount are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. You will receive either a monthly, quarterly or yearly statement that will show your giving history.

If I already have a monthly pledge with WOW® Radio, do I need to renew my pledge every six months or every year?

 

No. We will assume your ongoing monthly pledge is just that, ongoing, because you want WOW® Radio to count on your support every month. Every so often we will ask if you want to continue at your same level of giving, or invite you to consider increasing your amount. At those times or at anytime, you are free to let us know what you want to do: continue at your same amount, change your amount, or discontinue. This helps us be better stewards of your gifts by planning and budgeting accordingly.

 

Is $10 per month the minimum amount accepted by WOW® Radio?

No. WOW® Radio accepts gifts of any amount, anytime, any way you choose to give.

What can I donate?

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes! Individual tax situations vary so please check with a tax professional to determine how you may benefit.

How much will my tax write-off be?

The amount that is tax deductible is the sale price of the vehicle. For more information on tax write-offs, we suggest you review IRS Publication 526 which sets forth the manner in which the IRS requires you to determine the value of your donated property.

What do I need to donate my vehicle?

You will need the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it, please call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made. Please call us toll-free at 855-969-4227 or 855-WOW-4-CAR seven days a week.

My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?

Yes. We are able to accept most vehicles running or not. Exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing. Most vehicles need to be intact and in towable condition. Can you pick up vehicles in all 50 states?

We are able to pick up most vehicles in the continental United States.

How is the value of my car determined?

Before filing your taxes, we suggest you review IRS Publication 526 which sets forth the manner in which the IRS requires you to determine the value of your donated property.

How will the car be picked up?

We will arrange to have your vehicle towed away at a scheduled time convenient for you. The vehicle will be picked up by a licensed tow company at no cost to you and will be taken to our sale location.

How long will it take to pick up my car?

We will contact you to schedule an appointment within two to three business days at the most. If you need your car picked up sooner, please call us toll-free at 855-969-4227 or 855-WOW-4-CAR seven days a week. We may be able to make those arrangements as well.

How does the new law effect my tax deduction?

Donors will no longer be responsible for determining the deductible value of their donation. Instead, they will receive IRS Form 1098-C, Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes if the proceeds from the sale exceed $500, stating the amount of the gross proceeds from the sale of the donated vehicle. The amount listed on IRS Form 1098-C will be the gross proceeds of the deductible donation.

Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes, our driver will issue a receipt at the time of pick-up. This is not your final tax receipt unless the sale of your vehicle does not exceed $500. This initial acknowledgement will indicate your name as well as the year, make, model and condition of the car you are donating. It will be your only receipt if your vehicle sells for less than $500. An IRS Form 1098-C, Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes will be mailed to you within 30 days of the sale stating the amount of gross proceeds received from your car, provided your vehicle sold for more than $500. This will be your tax receipt for your charitable contribution.

How is the value determined on the vehicle donated?

The value is determined by the gross proceeds raised from the sale of the donated vehicle. You no longer have the burden of determining the value yourself.

What can I claim as a deduction?

According to the tax law effective January 1, 2005, if the claimed value of the donated vehicle exceeds $500, the taxpayer is limited to the gross proceeds of the sale.

What if my car is valued over $5000?

Effective January 1, 2005, you will no longer be required to have vehicles appraised. The value you may claim will be the amount of gross proceeds received from your vehicle.

Does my car have to be running to donate it?

In some cases we can take your car, running or not. However, it must have an engine and be towable. Contact a representative at 855-969-4227 or 855-WOW-4-CAR to find out if your vehicle qualifies for pick-up.

Do I need a smog certificate in order to donate my car?

For states that require smog certificates or safety inspections, you may donate your vehicle without these documents.

What type of paperwork will I need to donate my car?

You will need a clear title. Any lien holder listed on the title must be cleared and or released by the bank. This law varies by state. Please refer to the DMV in your state for clear instructions.

Do I need to notify the DMV when I donate my vehicle?

Each state has different criteria on how notification is made. Some states require the license plates to be returned to the DMV and other states may require a Release of Liability to be submitted to the DMV. Please contact your State DMV for directions on how to notify the state that you are no longer the owner of the vehicle.

WOW® Radio is owned by the ministry called Agape Educational Media, Inc. which is registered by the IRS as a 501(c)3 nonprofit Christian organization. We are NOT a for-profit, commercial business; another distinctive of WOW® Radio that sets it apart from most other FM music radio stations you might hear in our community.

Anyone can partner with WOW® Radio whose heart beats with ours to see people find hope in Christ.

Our financial partners, at every level, provide the all-important ongoing support needed to help reach lives everyday. People donate in a variety of ways: single one-time gifts, monthly gifts, by check, online, through their business, through a community foundation, large-size gifts, and especially the WOW Way (bank transfer, credit or debit card).

Volunteers are the backbone of the work of the ministry working at our concerts, in the office and studios, and throughout our community sharing with others about WOW® Radio's impact.

 

 

What can I expect after I donate to WOW® Radio?

A friendly and timely ‘thank you’ receipt letter from us and, we believe, personal fulfillment from knowing we are in this ministry together impacting individuals and families everyday in our community for Christ!

Also you will receive either a monthly, quarterly or yearly statement that will show your giving history. There is also a quarterly e-Newsletter that you will soon be able to request to receive.

 

 

Where does WOW® Radio receive donations from?

WOW® Radio is a faith-based ministry and, choosing to bypass any government funds, depends completely on the generosity of donations from local individuals, organizations, churches, businesses and foundations.

Why does WOW® Radio do what they do?

Because the founders of our ministry live in this area and saw the need for a local radio station like WOW® Radio is. As experienced broadcaster, they felt called by God to use their resources and experiences as media professionals and communicators to serve our area with the station. For our staff, this is more than a job, but truly a cause; a timely ministry for our culture.
