(un)adopted exists to provide a hope and a future for orphans around the world by facilitating a safe environment to disciple and equip children in need. The Reality: Throughout the world there are more than 153 million orphans. Once these children reach a certain age (around 16yrs old) they are released from the institution to make it on their own without any aid. Most cannot make themselves a meal, much less a dignified living. In reality, most unadopted children become trapped in a lifestyle of sexual exploitation, drug abuse and slavery. By no fault of their own, these teens soon find themselves subject to a life they could have never imagined – a life in which they are completely unprepared to make it alone.
Why They Exist:
(Un)adopted exists to make a difference. As a ministry of Lifeline Children’s Services, we are uniquely positioned to initiate effective change. The call to rescue the orphan in distress can not be fulfilled through adoption alone. The leadership of Lifeline became burdened with the circumstances of those children who have been left behind and are subjected to a life they can’t control. Seeking to cast a greater vision for orphan care than just adoption, (un)adopted was created to care for orphans across the world in a wide variety of ways.
